The Reasons Why the Oscar Race Is Already Over →
(SOURCE) Cancel the office pool. Forget the Vegas bookmakers, who still think that a certain Facebook movie is the odds-on favorite. And if you’re looking for a cliffhanger on Sunday, Feb. 27, you may as well watch Big Love on HBO, because there won’t be much suspense over on ABC at the 83rd award ceremony of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In all likelihood, the Oscar race is...

The Social Network cleaned up all the critics awards but THE MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMY ARE NOT CRITICS, NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS. The members of the Academy are mostly actors, then directors, producers, writers, editors, cinematographers etc. So The King’s Speech would definitely win Best Picture since it has won the Director’s, Producer’s & Screen Actors Guild. Simples....

Screen Actors Guild Awards. I’m too depressed and tired to write anything. Basically “The King’s Speech” won again, and everything else was predictable both film & TV. We have our new Superman
English actor Henry Cavill has been cast as Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder’s reboot “The Man of Steel”. Cavill is best known for “The Tudors” and I can’t really comment on the decision cos I’ve barely seen him in anything. If you recall he auditioned for “Superman Returns” which went to Brandon Routh and he also auditioned to be James Bond...

-saturdaynightlive: lina-lamont: Read More What irritates me is that The King’s Speech clearly isn’t a directors’ movie. It is the performances that elevate it to what it is, which is a very good/enjoyable movie, but certainly not the best of 2010. Tom Hooper handled it well and did a solid job, but I don’t see how in a category with David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky and Christopher Nolan, all...

Tom Hooper wins DGA
Okay so “The King’s Speech” would win the Academy Award for Best Picture. It doesn’t deserve it but there you go, that’s the Oscars for you. A minor consolation was that it seemed that David Fincher would win Best Director but that’s not looking likely at the moment, seems like Tom Hooper is now the favorite for that because Hooper won the Director’s Guild...

Random thought on the "Moment 4 Life" video
Lemme just say I’m not really a big fan of Nicki Minaj or her “Pink Friday” album. This is just a random observation I made after watching Nicki Minaj’s new video “Moment 4 Life”, one of the decent songs on the album. When I first heard “Moment 4 Life” it seemed like a homage by Nicki & Drake to their success, people that have helped them get...

"Skins" (UK)
The new season of Skins premiered tonight and they changed the whole cast again, it keeps the show refreshing and it’s the only reason I tuned in tonight because I wasn’t really a big fan of the 2nd generation. The other thing that has made Skins great and groundbreaking is that the writers are all young some are even teenagers so the characters are very realistic. The first episode...

Ranking the Best Picture nominees
The extension of the nominees for the Academy Award for Best Film have made predicting them less exciting, even a hack like me got all 10 right and apparently MSN Film UK had predicted them since November when some of the contenders weren’t even out yet. The good thing about this expansion is that more films get honored for instance Up! & District 9 last year, Winter’s Bone &...
